HIALEAH, FL, February 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dade Medical College's "Adopt-a-School" program will espouse yet another area facility with a $5,000 donation to Hialeah Senior High and Principal Dr. Verena Cabrera on Friday, February 27th, 2009 at 10 a.m. The ceremonial check presentation is open to all local media.

Expected to attend are Hialeah City Councilman Luis Gonzalez, former State Representative Rene Garcia, current State Representative Eddy Gonzalez and Dade Medical College CEO Ernesto Perez, Jr. The donation will mark the second such act by Dade Medical College, the first coming in December of 2008 and benefiting the Westland Hialeah Senior High School band program.

"Our institution remains steadfastly committed to helping schools in our community during this time of economic hardship," says Perez. "It is our hope to alleviate the effects of public school budgetary cuts while offering quality healthcare education to our students." The donation will be split 50/50 to help both the band program and the Academy of Medicine and Health.

Councilman Luis Gonzalez has this to say: "It's an honor for me to be able to work with companies like Dade Medical College and come back to give to the school which I attended."

State Representative Eddy Gonzalez offers: "Dade Medical College's "Adopt-a-School" program is a testament of their commitment to our community's future and to the future of healthcare. It is an honor to be associated with the college, and I look forward to seeing the program expand to ensure quality health care for all Floridians while strengthening our children's education."

In 2008, Dade Medical College added an additional 12,000 square feet of classroom, laboratory, library, office and student lounge space to the Hialeah campus, bringing the total to 21,000 square feet. The institution was also approved to offer Academic Associate Degrees in 2008. Construction has now begun on a second non-main campus in Homestead. Dade Medical College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and is a member of the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges, where Mr. Perez serves as a Board Member.

Dade Medical College was founded in 1999 as a vocational medical institute teaching diagnostic ultrasound. The main campus is located at 3401 NW 7th Street in Miami and like the Hialeah campus, which was built in 2007 and is located at 2750 W 68th Street, Suite 202, offers Diplomas and Associate of Science Degrees in the fields of Massage Therapy, Medical Assistant, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and General Radiologic Technology.
