Karen Williams celebrates 30 years in healthcare education administration

OAK PARK, IL, June 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen Williams, Administrator of Graduate Medical Education for Mount Sinai Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of medical education administration.

Ms. Williams has 30 years of professional experience, with the last 11 of these years spent in her current position at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her responsibilities include accrediting residents in training programs, processing licensure applications and contracts for residents, and ensuring that licensure appointments and contracts are in compliance with mandatory regulations. Ms. Williams takes pride in working hard to shift the influence in student population from medical schools to hospitals. She attributes her success to enjoying what she does.

An alumna of Duquesne University, Ms. Williams received a Master's Degree in Philosophy. She is a member of the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She names the Anti-Cruelty Society, the Treehouse Animal Foundation, and the American Diabetes Association as her favorite charities. Ms. Williams finds deep personal fulfillment in assisting the world's future physicians and looks forward to more years working with medical students.
