Annie Heminway Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who
Annie Heminway has authored more than 15 published French education books

NEW YORK, NY, August 8, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Annie Heminway, Professor in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at New York University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Ms. Heminway is a prolific French education writer, translator and professor. As a faculty member at New York University, she teaches French literature, translation and creative writing courses, and instructs two online classes per semester. She has authored more than 15 books, including "French Demystified: A Self-Teaching Guide," which was published by McGraw-Hill in 2007. All of her publications are currently in the process or have been digitalized for the Kindle and iPad. Ms. Heminway actively assists authors around the world in promoting and publishing their works and increasing their exposure in North America. She is a consultant for the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival, where she hosts creative writing workshops with renowned writers from all over the world. She is a consultant for the Canadian publisher Memoire d'Encrier and Member, Advisory Council for Linda Leith Publishing, Inc. She is also an editor and a consultant for Femmes au-delà des Mers, an organization for women from French ultramarine departments and territories.

In 1976, Ms. Heminway earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and American literature from the University of Tours. She then received a scholarship to pursue research in race relations and women's studies at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she taught and did graduate work, but soon discovered that she desired a more creative line of work. Thus, she started freelancing in video production and film subtitling for Cannes, Avignon etc., and subtitling the news for the Dan Rather Evening News while pursuing teaching opportunities. Ms. Heminway, who considers herself a free spirit, attributes her success to her hard work and the support of her mentors. In the years to come, she hopes to do more online teaching, and educate students from India, Brazil, China and Japan. She also plans to write more books and pursue her travel program in French-speaking countries to meet writers and artists.
